Save The Date

Minted Save the Date designs

I've come up with a few ideas for the latest Minted contest for their "Don't Forget! Minted's Save the Date Challenge" If you have the chance to jump over and maybe give us a like or feedback on our current designs, I'd appreciate it! xo PS on a personal note I lived for a few years on Balboa Island, and the photo of the kids in the "she said yes" design are on the ferry from Balboa Island to the Newport Peninsula (unless I'm mistaken- but it looks like it!) So many good memories there, and still fun to visit when I go home! balboa-she-said-yes

Jake and Kristin Hotel Bel-Air Letterpress printed Wedding set

I have been wanting to shoot this elegant and beautiful wedding set for awhile, but was finally motivated when we found out that we were mentioned in a photo shoot of the (stunning) actual wedding featured in the summer edition of Inside Weddings Magazine (!). You can see the actual article here...IW_2013_Summer_Cline-Wurzak . The programs we created on page 96 and the menu on page 100 (the calligraphy for each guest's name was done by the very talented Tracy Joe.) Not featured was the mailed wedding invitation set, so I thought I would share that with you as well! We worked closely with the bride and groom and party planners to create and letterpress print this set. The invitation was printed on 220# Crane's Lettra, with edge coloring on the invitation (to match the ink, custom envelope liner and custom wax seal).the other pieces (RSVP, Brunch and Rehearsal dinner) were all printed on 110# Crane's Lettra. Subtle butterflies are sprinkled throughout the set, from the custom wax seal to the outer envelope, blind printed on the invitation and brunch invitation. Everything was wrapped in a beautiful sheer silver mesh Midori ribbon held together with the butterfly wax seal. We also created the Save the Date mailers, you can see them from a previous post here. I think the programs will be a separate post...

Vintage Map Save the Date

This save the date was designed to reflect the couples international travels all over the world. Each envelope was lined with a design from a vintage map, and the actual save the date shows a map of the Bay Area where the couple will have their ceremony.(sorry for the erased web address, I wanted to keep their wedding website just for guests!) All of our designs are custom and designed just for our clients, please let us know if we can design and print something for you! IMG_2241

Save the Weekend!

Hello, Back to some of our recent letterpress printed projects! I know I don't have to wait until after the wedding, or party, or any event to post about it, but I just prefer to wait so only my clients and their guests get to see the printed pieces until after the special day. So I've had to sit on this one for a bit, but it was worth it! This lovely tri-fold  save the date allowed us to incorporate all the necessary information- while still keeping the design classic and elegant. We used Crane Lettra 300 gram in Pearl White and a hand mixed ink to match the Hotel Bel-Air signature grey/blue color. I think it is so important to let your guests know all the weekend activities ahead of time, especially if they will be traveling to attend (as most of their guests were). Designed and printed by Paper Monkey Press.

Client Designed Traditional Save the Date

Good Morning and Happy Monday! I wanted to start off this week with a client designed project that we recently printed. I would have to say that at least 60% of all the projects we print are designed by outside designers we work with, or clients that find us through the internet or by word of mouth. I actually started out with the intention of only printing other designers work, but then I got talked into designing a few pieces, and now I almost do more designing than printing. (but more about that in a future post.) Anyways, this is a beautiful, classic save the date card that a client brought to us to print, she chose the very thick 600 gram / 220# Crane's Lettra in Pearl White, and I think it really compliments her design. If you have a design that you would like to have letterpress printed, send it over and we'd be happy to put together a print quote for you.

Wood Veneer Save the Dates

Wood Veneer is a bit tricky to print on, but oh so worth it in the end. I love how the wood grain is so different from card to card and really interacts and accentuates the design. For Tim and Katie's save the dates, we used a double thick wood veneer, so they can just pop them in the mail as postcards- wouldn't you love to receive one of these? I blocked out their website info, just incase you were tempted to invite yourself to the wedding...
